Validatore Docker Compose online
Analizza un file Compose in modo statico: Docker non viene eseguito e le immagini non vengono scaricate.
Docker Compose guide
What is Docker Compose?
Docker Compose defines multi-container applications in a YAML file. This tool analyzes structure without starting containers or connecting to the Docker daemon.
What does this validator check?
It checks basic YAML, services, image, build, ports, environment, volumes, networks, depends_on, healthcheck and selected security warnings.
Is version required?
The modern Compose Specification does not necessarily require version. If present, it is reported as non-blocking information.
Static validation
Remote images, Dockerfiles, build contexts, env_file files and local paths are not checked. Only the pasted content is analyzed.
Frequently asked questions
Docker Compose questions
How do I validate a Docker Compose file?
Paste the YAML, click Validate Compose and review errors, warnings and the summary.
How do I know whether my YAML is valid?
The validator checks common YAML syntax and reports the problematic line when it can determine it.
Is version required in Docker Compose?
Not necessarily in the modern specification. The tool reports it as information, not an error.
What is the difference between ports and expose?
ports publishes ports on the host; expose documents or enables ports for internal communication.
How do volumes work?
You can use bind mounts or named volumes. The tool checks structure, not real paths.
What does depends_on do?
It declares service dependencies. Referenced services are checked for existence.
How are environment variables used?
environment accepts a map or list. References such as ${PORT:-8080} are preserved and not resolved.
What does privileged: true mean?
It requests privileged mode and can broaden container access; the tool reports a warning.
Does the tool run my containers?
No. It does not run Docker, download images or connect to the daemon.
Is my Compose file stored?
No. Content is processed locally and no history is retained.
